Flotilla Facility Operations
Flotilla members with various types
of boats and planes can offer them for use in different types of patrol
activities for the U. S. Coast Guard. The Flotilla Staff Officer for
Operations (FSO-OP) supervises Boat Crew Operations and coordinates Operational
activities between the Boat Crew program and the Air Crew program. For
Boat Crew Operations, the FSO-OP works in concert with the Executive Officer at Station Ft. Macon to plan for
Safety, Training and Regatta Patrols. The FSO-OP works in concert with the
Division’s Auxiliary Air Crew Officer to plan for joint operations training
operations.
Once operational activities are planned, the FSO-OP works with the Facility
Operators/Coxswains to get the necessary assets underway. Operational
activities are tracked using the Auxiliary’s Patrol Order Management System
(POMS) and the FSO-OP monitors the tracking from the initial order request
through the completion of the order and the Mission Activity Report..
